Granite Worktops.

Granite is a completely natural stone, composed of a mixture of fossils and minerals, which gives granite the variety of colour, beautiful depth and crystal textures you see in granite worktops. Granite is stronger and less porous in comparison to marble for example, but it’s not as strong as engineered quartz.

Granite is sourced from quarries all around the world in blocks, which are then cut into sheets (slabs) of stone. Granite can vary massively from block to block, making each slab truly unique. However, due to this variation, we always advise customers choose their own slabs of granite. We can assist you with sourcing your perfect piece due to our excellent working relationship with our suppliers. If you chose granite, you would have a part of the earth’s history in your home!

When you compare granite to quartz, the consistency of colours and patterns are compromised slightly because of its natural properties. However, if you prefer the natural beauty, distinct colour variation and veining found in granite and marble, then this cannot be completely replicated in engineered quartz.

Offering various Granite Styles

Our natural stone worktops all leave our factory dry-treated, which means they are pre-sealed prior to installation. However, all natural stone will require periodic sealing, which can be done by yourself, so no need for a specialist visit. When this will need doing varies, due to usage and other environmental factors. As natural stone is porous, it can absorb spillages and debris over time, which is why we strongly advise regular sealing is done and any spillages are wiped up promptly. We are only a phone call or email away if you need further advice on this.
